Evolution of Smooth (EOS) Lip Balm
Pucker up, there's a new gluten-free lip balm!
Wait, what? Are gluten-free beauty products really necessary? Well, if you're a VERY sensitive Celiac then yes, you may want to opt to go completely gluten-free from the inside out, which means tossing out all of your old makeup or doing a full audit to ensure full gluten-free compliance with your current batch of makeup. It sounds like a pain in the ass, but in the case of lip products, it makes sense. If you use a lip product with gluten, you could be inadvertently "glutening" yourself every time you lick your lips or eat.
There are a myriad of natural beauty brands out there that cater to the gluten-free customer and many of them are actually pretty good substitutes for that secret stash of M.A.C lipstick you have (and no I'm not saying M.A.C products have gluten).
My beauty must-have is lip gloss/balm. I NEED it. I cannot stand dry lips (or dry hands for that matter) and take great pains to ensure I have some sort of lip moisturizer close at hand at all times. A few times, after switching to a new handbag, I've forgotten my lip balm at home which sucked. On one such day I ventured to the drug store to find something I could use.
Lately I've been on a natural product kick and have been trying to minimize the chemicals I eat/wear so I crossed my fingers in hopes that my local drugstore would have something natural. I was in luck and found a EOS (evolution of smooth) lip balm that touts how natural it is. I was a little hesitant to buy it at first because it's in the shape of an egg or "sphere" as they call it, but I bought it anyway.
What I love about the EOS lip balm is actually the thing I was iffy on to begin with - the packaging! It's a twist top, which means once you close it, it stays closed. I've had many moments where lipsticks and lip glosses have opened on their own in my purse, so it's nice that EOS went the extra step to make sure it stays sealed when you close it. The first flavor I bought was mint and I liked it so much I have added "summer fruit" to my collection.
The best part? EOS lip balms are gluten-free! They are also paraben-free, petrolatum-free and phthalate-free (AKA the three nasty P's).
