The Nourished Food Blogger Conference took place on Friday the 13th, and I definitely had some freaky Friday moments as I was driving from the city to Lombard when my Google phone navigation turned off not once, but three times, causing me to get lost and go out of my way. Good times!

The conference was in full swing by the time I arrived, with Karen from Blackbird Bakery talking about recipe development. For an 8 hour day, it went by really fast. By the time lunch rolled around everyone seemed famished yet excited since the entire lunch was gluten-free and catered by a variety of local area restaurants with dessert provided by the utterly amazing Sweet Ali's Bakery. After one bite of their gluten and dairy-free lemon cupcakes, I was in love.

After sharing nourishing food (punny!) and conversation with some of the Twitter friends I finally got to meet in person, we all headed into the afternoon sessions ready for action. By the end of the day I was exhausted, but managed to re-energize a bit back at the hotel (with the help of an adult beverage), and head to dinner at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba
