Glenny's Gluten-Free Snacks

Gluten-free snack foods have come a long way since 2005 when I made the plunge into a gluten-free lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, there were some good gluten-free snack options out there, but in no way was there the sheer variety of what you can find today.

I remember finding Glenny's gluten-free Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies a few years ago, and quickly becoming obsessed with them because they were soft-baked and GOOD. I would sit with a handful of cookies, and a glass of milk watching mind-numbing reality shows feeling pretty content with the whole situation, which is why I was completely stoked when Glenny's extended the opportunity for a giveaway.

When I received the Glenny's snack pack sampler, I was astounded by the array of gluten-free products they now offer, and simultaneously daunted! I kept the box at bay, peering into it every now and again, and finally worked myself up to a product sampling session (gym here I come!) with the help of Mr. Misterbelly, of course. The thing I immediately liked about Glenny's gluten-free line is that they are all snacks I would happily keep at work for those afternoon hunger attacks and not feel guilty about what I'm eating.

I tried the gluten-free Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps and really enjoyed them. I liked that they weren't as dry and crunchy like rice cakes, even though I still love me some rice cakes. It was too bad I didn't get the Onion & Garlic flavor in my box since I love anything Onion Garlic!

My beloved Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies were in the box too, which I lovingly enjoyed while watching the trainwreck of a show Shahs of Sunset (which if you're looking for mind-numbing entertainment, this would be it). The cookies are soft-baked, and are dairy-free as well as gluten-free, using certified gluten-free rolled oats.

The Brown Rice Marshmallow Treats are also good, but not quite on par with Rice Krispie treats. Take it with a grain of salt though because I'm really obsessed with Rice Krispie treats. These are a good option for kids and they are individually wrapped, which makes for a good travel option too.

The fruit and nut bars were completely new to me. I only tried the Peanut & Peanut Butter bar, but liked it quite a bit. I could see it definitely filling me up if I needed a quick snack on-the-go. If you like peanuts, you will be stoked to have these in your cupboard since it's essentially a peanut overload.
