Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips

You can always tell when I'm completely swamped with life by how far apart my posts are. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind with traveling to Chicago and then to London in the space of a few days. I had the opportunity to try a few wonderful spots in Chicago, which I'll post about soon, but today is dedicated to my savior of the past few days - Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips. I know it doesn't sound exciting, but when I'm out of sorts and just need to indulge, without overindulging, I eat chocolate chips. After a stressful couple of weeks, a handful of Guittard Extra Dark Chocolate Chips made it all better. Ok, maybe I'm just a tad hormonal at the moment, but nothing satisfies me more than chocolate.

I always try to keep a bag of chocolate chips in my house for when I get those intense cravings. A handful of dark chocolate is less sinful than eating a slice of cake (especially with the kind of baking I do). I was all about Ghiradelli Chocolate Chips until I found Guittard chips, which I picked up on a whim. Something about the striking red packaging caught my eye and it's been love ever since.

The first bite of these sinful little treats made my whole body relax immediately. The dark chocolate is rich, and full of flavor, without a trace of bitterness. They are so good that I haven't used them for anything else except snacking. I'm pretty sure they would make for an awesome chocolate chip in a double chocolate cookie, but until the day comes when I actually bake with them, they will suit me just fine as my go to night time treat.
