When I received some amazing goodies from Katz a few weeks ago, the first thing I thought was "Holy crap this is a ton of stuff!" and the second thing I thought was "How much time am I going to have to put in at the gym if I eat all of this?"  Some of my goodies were given away (congrats The Mommy Bowl!), and I kept a few that I really wanted to try, like the Chocolate Rugelech.  It's no small secret that I love chocolate and I haven't had any rugelech in years, so I couldn't wait to try it.

The first thing that hits you when you open the box is a chocolate smell, which won points from me immediately.  The rugelech itself has a chocolate/cinnamon flavor and the texture reminds me of a firm cinnamon roll.  I ate 3 before I could stop myself and for the sake of science, popped one in the microwave the next day to see what it did to the texture/flavor.  The microwave succeeding in softening the texture, but it muddled the flavor, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Rugelech, in general, varies in shape and texture, but for being gluten-free, I thought these were really tasty.  If you haven't had Katz products before, check out their really cool sample pack offer.  You can try almost any Katz product for free by ordering their sample pack.  Try it and tell me what you think!
