Glow Gluten Free Cookies

I have been meaning to review Glow Gluten Free cookies for ages, but I haven’t gotten around to posting until now.  I have to say the packaging attracted me initially when I saw them at Whole Foods.  They are just so bright and cheery that you can’t help but pick them up to see what they are all about.  I was a bit dubious about buying them though because A) they are about $8 a pop, which is steep in my book when it comes to cookies of any sort and B) they aren’t soft-baked, but the novelty won out over my wallet and I bought them.

Picture 5Now, I’m a milk and cookies kind of person.  I like to dunk my cookies in milk until they are soft and then eat them, so finding a good dunkable cookie is high on my list.  Kinnikinnick’s KiniToo’s meet that requirement and then some because they are lactose free, but I digress.  Anyway, the Glow cookies are good in flavor, but they are hard and crumbly, making for a poor milk dunking cookie, which was disappointing for me, but not a deal breaker.  In fact, I think that if they made a soft-baked version of their cookies they’d have a real winner because while there are tons of gluten free cookie options on the market, not many are soft-baked.  I do enjoy Glow cookies despite their crunchy texture and after visiting their site I feel less guilty about eating them because they are supposedly lower in fat and calories than other snack foods. Who knew?!
