Pierogies

I love me some pierogies.  I am honestly amazed that I can't find more (or any) gluten free ready to eat versions available out there.  Which is why I was so delighted to find frozen pierogies available at my local Italian market/gluten free hideaway - Fratelli Market.  Not only do they make their own gluten free versions of pastas and ravioli's, but they also dabble in pierogies!  I picked up a package one day and stowed them away in my fridge and kind of forgot about them.  We were having steak for dinner one night and I happened upon the pierogioes and decided to give them a whirl.

I boiled them because I didn't want to make a huge mess of my stove (I'm a Virgo).  The pasta was slightly chewier and a tad thicker than normal, but overall they tasted good.  I ended up buying the pierogies again to see how they would taste fried versus boiled and they were much better.  Fratelli's doesn't offer mail order, but if you're ever in the CT area make sure to swing by!
