Cinnamon Chex Is Gluten Free

Ok, yes we all know that General Mills has reformualted their Chex cereals to be gluten free, but I’m still loving it!  I went to the store the other day and saw that Cinnamon Chex is now gluten free so I bought a box to give them a try.  I’ve never actually had Cinnamon Chex before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised!  Some of the chex pieces are heavily coated in cinnamon/sugar and some are plain.  The overall taste reminds me very much of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (which I love).  The downside is that the cereal pieces seem to get soggy pretty quickly so if you don’t eat it fast you’ll end up with a bunch of mush.  I can look past that though because they are really tasty.  I’m still waiting for the gluten free version of Strawberry chex to come out – can’t wait!

    Hi Chris,

It looks like you can buy it in bulk from Amazon. Good luck!

I am a celiac and just love Cinnamon Chex Gluten Free cereal. I went to buy more today and was in the checkout line when I noticed the two boxes I was about to purchase suddenly lacked the GLUTEN FREE label. Apparently the store ran out of cinnamon gluten free Chex and subbed a couple of boxes of regular non-gluten free cinnamon chex they had in their warehouse, perhaps from a lot manufactured just prior to this flavor going gluten-free earlier this year (2009). I put it back and did not buy it, came home and hit the internet to find out if they've discontinued gluten free Cinnamon, far and away their best flavored cereal. I certainly hope not. The chocolate and strawberry versions are for kids and those two suddenly dominate in the cereal shelves, while cinnamon is becoming scarce. What is a grownup celiac to do?

They haven't discontinued it as far as I know. I think a lot of stores have older versions of the cereal available and they put those out to sell them and get them out of their stock. I can still very easily find GF versions of Cinnamon, Rice and Chocolate Chex in my area. If your store is not carrying it, ask! :)
