Gluten Free Valencia Orange Cake

A week or so ago I posted about Starbucks offering gluten free cakes in their stores…well guess what? They’re herrrreee! I stopped by Starbucks this morning for some latte goodness and glanced at the pastry case, as I always do, and noticed that the gluten free cakes were in there!
They come pre-wrapped and are labeled gluten free clearly. They were even sitting on their own little pedestal like a gluten free trophy. I wasn’t particularly in the mood for a cake, but I bought it anyway so I could try it.
The cake itself is a pretty large portion and 290 calories for the whole serving. It has a subtle hint of orange flavor that is complemented nicely by the almonds on top. It’s also incredibly moist and tastes great with coffee.
I’m really excited about this. I hope Starbucks decides to offer some other options in the near future, like cookies. Mmmm!
